Life moves fast.
Kids grow even faster.
The little moments, the ones you think you will never forget, quietly become the stories you will want to hold onto forever.
My family portrait sessions are calm, meaningful, and designed to capture your family exactly as you are.
Not posed.
Not perfect.
Just real connection, real emotion, and the beauty of the season you are in.
Before your session, we talk.
Not about shot lists or stiff poses.
About your family, your home, and how you want this season remembered.
We keep it simple.
We get aligned.
So when the session happens, you can relax and let your family be themselves.
There is no pressure to perform here.
Kids do not need to sit still.
Parents do not need to manage every moment.
You do not need to worry about whether things are going “right.”
Some families are playful.
Some are quiet.
Most are a mix of both.
Great portraits are not about everyone looking at the camera.
They are about the way your child leans into you.
The look you share with your partner when the kids are being ridiculous.
The in-between moments you do not realize you will miss someday.
Every image is crafted with intention, not trends. Clean, timeless, and emotionally grounded so they still feel right years from now.
These are not photos for today.
They are for the future version of your family.
After your session, we meet again for your reveal.
This is a calm, guided experience where you see your images for the first time. I project them at scale so you can feel them, not just scroll past them.
Together we slow things down. We relive the moments, choose your favorite images, and design artwork that fits your home and your life.
This is where portraits stop being files and start becoming part of your everyday environment.
Your images deserve to live where your life happens.
I help you design artwork that feels intentional in your space, whether that is a single statement piece, a wall collection, or an album your kids will pull off the shelf years from now.
Everything is designed to be seen, held, and lived with.
A planning conversation to understand your family and your home
A relaxed session built around connection, not control
A guided reveal where you see and choose your images
Finished artwork designed to last and be part of your daily life
This stage of life will not look like this forever.
Let’s create something that helps you remember how it felt.
Families often tell me they feel more relaxed than they expected.
Kids don’t feel rushed or corrected.
Parents don’t feel judged or on edge.
There’s room for personalities to show up naturally.
I pay attention to energy, body language, and when to step in or step back. That ability to read a room is what helps families settle in and be themselves, even if they were nervous going in.
Trust builds quickly when people feel seen and supported. That’s when the most meaningful moments happen.
These portraits are created with real homes in mind.
Light, wall space, scale, and how your family actually lives all matter. That’s why images are not chosen blindly from a screen.
During your reveal, your portraits are projected in your space so you can see how they feel on your walls before anything is decided. This removes guesswork and helps you choose artwork with confidence.
The result is artwork that feels intentional, not accidental.
Smyer Image helps families create custom wall art and albums that are designed specifically for their home.
What is the session like?
Relaxed and interactive. Kids can move, explore, laugh, and be themselves. I’ll gently guide when needed, but the goal is real connection, not perfect posing.
Where do sessions take place?
At your home, a favorite outdoor space, or somewhere meaningful to your family. We choose locations that feel comfortable and natural, not forced.
What happens after the session?
You’re invited to a reveal appointment where you’ll see your images for the first time. I project the portraits on your wall so you can experience them at scale and design artwork that fits your home.
Do we receive digital images?
Yes. A digital gallery is included with artwork purchase so you can share and archive your images while also enjoying them every day in your home.
What does artwork investment look like?
Your session is $525 and includes an 11×14 thin canvas. Additional artwork, albums, and collections are designed during your reveal based on what you love and what fits your space.
Is this a sales presentation?
No. There is no pressure to buy anything. The reveal is a guided design experience so you can decide what, if anything, you want to create.
How far in advance should we book?
Most families book 4–6 weeks out, especially in spring and fall. If you’re working around a milestone or season, earlier is better.
What if my kids don’t cooperate?
That’s normal. I plan for it. Some of the most meaningful images come from the in-between moments, not the perfectly behaved ones.
How do we get started?
We begin with a conversation. We talk about your family, your home, and what you want to remember from this season. From there, everything unfolds naturally.
