The west bench sits at the foot of the Oquirrh Mountains, and the light out here behaves differently than it does in the flatlands. It comes in low and warm, catching the sagebrush and junipers in a way that turns a family portrait into something that looks nothing like anyone else's.
I photograph families here throughout the year. Every session ends the same way, in your home, with your portraits projected onto your own walls before anything is printed.
Where I shoot in Herriman
Butterfield Trailhead Regional Park
Part of Salt Lake County's Southwest Canyon Trails Network, Butterfield is one of the newest and least-crowded locations in the south valley. A large parking lot, wide trails, and 16 miles of terrain that opens into sagebrush flats and juniper groves with the Oquirrh range rising behind them.
The light here at golden hour is unlike anything else I've found in the south valley. Warm, low, and directional, catching the silver-green sage and the mountain ridgeline at the same time. It's a desert backdrop that reads as art on a wall rather than a snapshot at a park.

The drone footage
I flew a drone on the scouting run to get a sense of the terrain from above. The footage shows what I'm working with: open sagebrush flats, juniper canopy, trail switchbacks, and the full Oquirrh ridgeline as a backdrop.

A short call first. I learn about your family, walk you through the experience, and answer everything. If we're a good fit, we plan your session.
The Session
Golden hour at a Herriman location picked for your family. No stiff posing.
The Reveal
A few weeks later I come to your home in Herriman and project your portraits onto your walls at real size. You see exactly what belongs above your couch before anything is printed.

Investment
The session fee is $525, which includes planning, the session, your printed keepsake box, and the in-home reveal.
Most families invest between $500 and $2000 in artwork. Digital files are included with artwork.
